Embracing Spring

It has been so refreshing to have warm, sunny weather. It makes this pregnant women motivated to get stuff done. So since Craig was gifted with bikes for his birthday, we decided we would take our first “family” bike ride together. We rode around our neighborhood, getting a feel for where where we are establishing our new home. The sun kissing our cheeks and the wind cooling our backs made for a perfect afternoon ride. I will say it is a bit challenging being almost 8 months pregnant and trying to ride a bike. It’s more the bent over position that made it hard to breath properly and the seat was definitely too hard, we had to invest in a soft cover. But it felt so good to stretch my legs and spend some quality time with my man.

Since the weather was so nice and I got my blood flowing, I decided I would do some weeding in our backyard. The woman who lived here before had planted all kinds of plants and possibly flowers in our backyard, so it has been a fun adventure discovering what we have growing out there. The other day when I was out there inspecting it, I noticed the abundace of weeds infesting the plans. So I got to work. I put on a sermon a friend sent me, got some tools and hunkered down to clean out those bad boys. Unfortunately, many of the weeds had been there so long, the roots were deep so I had to get the shovel out and uproot them, taking out a few plants in the process. But that’s what’s necessary sometimes; cutting off some of the good to get all of the bad.

gardeningI was so engrossed in the sermon, I didn’t even see Craig sneak up to take a picture. But he captured the moment so I thought I’d share it with you.
