All About Julie

Julie was born on the same island as myself in the southern Philippines called Mindanao.  Her parents were missionaries and worked in the southern Philippines up until the time they left to move to Texas when Julie was in high school.  Julie has three older sisters, an older brother, a mom from Germany, and a dad from Seattle.

Just a couple years ago I would not have guessed I would be marrying a girl I met in middle school half way around the globe, ten years after graduating high school, who now lives in Texas.  And now it’s hard to imagine not marrying Julie.

Over the past 10 years Julie has worked about every job possible from tearing out dry-wall to serving ice-cream at Dairy Queen.  She was blessed with two boys, Silas and Symry, who are now 8 and soon to be 7.  One of the most amazing things about Julie is how she has raised those boys essentially by herself (her parents have been an enormous help and deserve grand accolades) and I feel tremendously blessed to get to join her beautiful family.

Julie is in school studying to become a high school art teacher so I suggest you to start having children now in order that they can have her in 13 years.  You would be hard pressed to find a woman as caring, tender, thoughtful, loyal, and loving as Julie.  But I don’t want to give the wrong impression… she isn’t very good at Dutch Blitz, is only fluent in a few languages, and has an annoying way about stepping up her mini-golf game when playing against someone who knows they should win.  Yet overall, I’m quite pleased with myself for the accomplishment of having her as my soon-to-be wife and now you know a little more of why.

All About Daniel

I was born a year and two days before Julie and although I have less German blood, I have a much more German name.  Rumor has it, taking the last name of “Wiebracht” is one of the top three reasons Julie is marrying me.  I’m the middle child of three and grew up primarily in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.  Much of my time was spent playing with Lego‘s, GI Joe‘s, and charging around on bikes. A large aspect of living in the Philippines is learning how to improvise, which we did by turning the neighborhood basketball court into our baseball field and a section of the street into our roller blade hockey rink.

After an enjoyable high school career, I spent the next four years at Wheaton College in the suburbs of Chicago and the next 5 summers selling educational books door-to-door with the Southwestern Company.  5 years ago I started my career with Tom James Clothing and feel incredibly blessed to work for a company that has allowed me the flexibility to spend a large amount of time in Texas this past year.

After Julie and I get married I will still travel to Chicago for a week each month to take care of my business and then build a clientele in NE Texas as well.  It is quite the adventure traveling through life with Julie and will continue to be an incredible joy.
