Baby Shower

This weekend, some ladies for the church hosted a baby shower for Craig and me. It was so sweet to be gathered with these lovely ladies as they blessed and celebrated the new life growing inside of me. There was a pleasant mix of new friends from church and loyal friends from college Many of the ladies contributed to the planning process by bringing dishes so we could have a lovely brunch together. And since we are women we socialized through most of the game time. However we did each guess baby’s arrival date and time, length and weight and most important, the sex. I am in charge of holding onto these to see who is closest or possibly right on and thus will win a prize! We also played the “guess the poop” game where chocolate bars had been smashed up and put into diapers and using sight and smell we had to guess which one each was. This was more difficult than I thought, but it was a fun way to bond together. The women overwhelmed us with gifts we will need for baby and we just feel so blessed. They took time to pray over me and the baby and the transiting we have ahead of us and I walked away truly knowing I was in the midst of God designed community.

I am so grateful for these women and the many ways they continue to bless us. Especially Sarah who opened her home to us, planned and executed this beautiful shower. And many thanks to her family as her husband and four children kept busy outside of the house while we celebrated.

Take a peak at some pictures and enjoy some moments from the shower.
